We’ve Been Up to Some Animal Antics

A whole host of animals have been bringing joy to our learners recently.

Starting with the fluffier visitors, students at Hedleys College were delighted to spend time with some adorable guinea pigs and rabbits. They thoroughly enjoyed stroking, cuddling, and feeding their new furry friends – look at those smiles!

Learners at Northern Counties had an equally exciting encounter, thanks to a special visit from . After bonding with the fluffier animals, they bravely stepped out of their comfort zones to meet some of the scalier members of the animal kingdom.

From snakes to a bearded dragon, a centipede and even a mouse, our learners impressed us with their courage and curiosity. They listened attentively as they learned how to care for each animal, embracing the opportunity to touch, hold, and connect with creatures they’d never encountered before.

Animals can have a powerful impact on individuals with disabilities, offering comfort, companionship, and a sense of empowerment. Our learners had a wonderful experience interacting with the animals, who provided soothing sensory engagement and a calming presence.

We can’t wait for the next visit!
