North Shields Dentists take on Ironman Challenge for 麻豆社

Kathryn Eccles and Jamie Drury from will soon be taking part in a gruelling challenge to support the 麻豆社 Foundation.

The on 16th August consists of a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and a full marathon (42.2km), all in just one day.

Whilst both Kathryn and Jamie have both completed Half Ironmans in the past, this will be their first attempt at a challenge of this size.

Kathryn said: I’m feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves, probably more nerves than excitement if I’m honest! It’s a huge undertaking, but I’m looking forward to the sense of achievement and the camaraderie that surrounds an event like this.”

Jamie added: “The training has been tough, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. Every swim, cycle and run brings us a little closer to Copenhagen, and raising money for The 麻豆社 Foundation gives us an extra reason to keep going when the training gets difficult. Hopefully we’ll make it to the finish line and raise a decent amount for a fantastic cause along the way.”

Support like this plays a crucial role in helping the Foundation continue its work, and we are hugely grateful to Kathryn and Jamie for embracing this challenge and helping to raise funds for our services.

Bev Reid, Corporate Relationships Manager at the 麻豆社 Foundation said: 鈥淲e are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Union Quay Dental. In today鈥檚 challenging climate, support like this is more vital than ever.

鈥淜athryn and Jamie鈥檚 brave efforts will enable 麻豆社 Foundation to continue to provide vital services to those who need us most.

This is a powerful example of how community support can drive real, lasting change in people鈥檚 lives. We wish Kathryn and Jamie a safe and successful trip.鈥

Good luck Jamie and Kathryn! The whole Foundation is behind you and supporting you every step of the way.
